Mortgage Loan Originator

About This Role

Promote and provide business development, originate loans, and manage relationships with customers and clients for mortgage financing. Educate applicants on financing options and guide them through the loan process.

Responsibilities

• Interview mortgage applicants to understand and educate them on financing options available
• Understand loan applicant's goals to advise and review potential loan programs
• Be accessible to the buyer and individuals involved in a loan to answer questions and/or provide updates
• Maintain reports and notes within origination software and customer relationship management systems
• Review new leads daily and contact them to earn business
• Manage daily pipeline from loan application to funding process
• Make presentations on loan products in sales meetings and with Sales staff
• Respond quickly to Operations to facilitate an efficient loan process
• Provide necessary disclosures to a loan applicant within a timely manner
• Market company's products and services accurately and effectively to potential business sources

Requirements

• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
• Possess general mortgage banking understanding (lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory timelines)
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
• One to two years of related experience and/or training
