About This Role

Supervise seasonal staff at retail stores for a 6-week spring program, focusing on merchandising, inventory control, and customer service for live plant products. This role involves hiring, training, and managing teams, as well as coordinating daily operations to drive sales.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee seasonal staff at 1-2 retail stores for a 6-Week Costco Spring Vestibule Program
  • Interview and hire a team of approximately 10-20+ seasonal workers
  • Manage daily merchandising functions, including setting up displays, organizing products, and ensuring appropriate signage
  • Care for live plant products, including coordinating watering and rotation to keep sets fresh
  • Perform inventory counts and submit various reports/paperwork for receiving, tracking RTV, and sales
  • Manage seasonal teams by training, scheduling, evaluating, and counseling employees
  • Communicate daily with Costco/client management, provide feedback on displays, and share product information
  • Manage a labor budget and store inventories, including dump, shrink, and pricing changes
  • Lead teams by example, delegate responsibilities, and improve morale through positive interactions
  • Ensure completion of all merchandising tasks, including organization, setup, signage, watering, and safety protocols

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of supervisory/management/sales experience (or related education) OR 2-3 seasons of experience with Customer Service / Retail / Merchandising
  • Ability to solve unexpected challenges and balance multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
  • Must be able to use or learn both Android & Apple IOS systems for reporting
  • Basic computer literacy, including MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass a Background Check (Federal/National)
  • Ability to be on feet for long periods, stooping, walking, bending, and standing in outdoor conditions
  • Ability to lift 25-50lbs and push/pull racks up to 50-100lbs

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of supervisory/management/sales experience or 2-3 seasons of customer service/retail/merchandising experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading teams or working within a supervisor/manager capacity
  • Experience with building customer/client relationships, conflict resolution, or account management
