Merchandise Manager

About This Role

The Merchandise Manager drives top-line sales growth by overseeing retail store operations, including shipment, replenishment, and inventory processes. This role focuses on performance, training and developing a team, and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Task Associates and support retail store operations
• Manage the shipment process, replenishment, omni-channel, price changes, and markdowns
• Drive sales, inventory results, and operational compliance
• Train and develop team members
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and compliance standards
• Meet or exceed store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink
• Attract, hire, and retain diverse talent
• Build an engaged team through collaboration and communication
• Execute all operational focuses inclusive of shipment, replenishment, omni-channel, price changes, and markdowns
• Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring store standards and operating procedures are met

Requirements

• 1-2+ years of fast-paced, retail management, or other relevant work experience
• Experience with driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses
• Experience with monitoring inventory levels, achieving operational excellence, driving a service culture, and executing merchandising directives
• Experience with attracting, developing, and motivating top talent, adapting to change, developing collaborative relationships, and leading and influencing a team
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system, Microsoft Office programs, and Apple devices)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable
• Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work shifts beginning at 5:00 a.m.
• Must be available to work shifts on Sundays and Mondays

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 1-2+ years of fast-paced, retail management, or other relevant work experience, with financial management, retail management, and leadership management experience.
