Medication Technician 3rd Shift

About This Role

This role involves providing hands-on care and emotional support to senior residents, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, and accurately assisting with medication administration during the 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents
• Observe and document resident symptoms and conditions for changes
• Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells
• Assist with continence management and proper disposal of products
• Serve and collect food trays, reporting refusal or loss of appetite
• Maintain cleanliness of resident's room and work areas
• Actively participate and assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Engage residents in life skills and enrichment activities
• Assist/observe medications and treatments using the Six Rights of Medication Pass
• Document and initial medication administration, including refusal or missed doses
• Report all resident medication concerns to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator
• Restock medication cart after all medication passes
• Count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift
• Maintain and clean the Medication Room, charts, and treatment carts
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School diploma/GED

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred.

Nice to Have

• Certified Nurse's Aid certification
• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Previous experience working with seniors
