Medical/Surgical Nurse

About This Role

This role is for a Registered Nurse responsible for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. The nurse will demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for complex patients, effectively managing patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients
• Adhere to Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual
• Demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs
• Assume full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model

Requirements

• BSN degree
• Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure
• BLS certification
• Basic analytic thinking to care for a group of patients
• Observational skills and ability to set priorities
• Effectively function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective skills in applying hospital standards in service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management
