Medical Assistant - Cardiology

About This Role

The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled specialist who assists the physician in all aspects of the medical practice under the direct responsibility of the physician. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care management, executing administrative and clinical procedures, and performing supervisory functions pertaining to the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician in all aspects of medical practice
• Assist with patient care management
• Execute administrative procedures
• Execute clinical procedures
• Perform supervisory functions pertaining to the position
• Take vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination
• Enter lab and imaging orders
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
• Update patient medical records
• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Remove sutures and dressings
• Transmit prescription refills

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Experience in medical assisting, patient care skills, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions
• Computer skills
• Customer service skills
• Detail oriented and self-motivated

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for medical assistants
• Minimum of One year experience in a medical office setting preferred. Must have experience in medical assisting, patient care skills, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.

Nice to Have

• Medical Assistance Certification preferred
• Minimum of one year experience in a medical office setting
