Materials Technician

About This Role

This Materials Technician I role provides comprehensive supply chain services within a healthcare organization, focusing on inventory management, receiving, distribution, and equipment support. The position ensures efficient supply operations and contributes to a safe and positive work environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive array of supply chain services throughout the organization
• Manage supply and linen inventory and replenishment
• Oversee receiving and distribution of materials
• Handle equipment management duties
• Perform mail center duties
• Maintain supplies and linen through accurate PAR level inventory counts
• Control utilization of materials and monitor PAR levels
• Accurately verify, retrieve, and distribute supplies, materials, and equipment to departments, including off-site locations
• Organize and monitor supplies for expiration dates and package integrity
• Maintain a safe workplace and utilize proper body mechanics for lifting and handling materials

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year related experience and/or training
• Basic knowledge of PAR inventory and replenishment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Sound math, counting, and analytical skills
• Ability to move quickly throughout the hospital on stat calls
• Accountability, initiative, and urgency
• Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 year related experience and/or training

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of healthcare products and their basic use
