Material Handler II

About This Role

This Material Handler II role is responsible for picking, palletizing, and stacking orders for a hardware manufacturer. The position contributes to the efficient daily operation of the automated material handling system, ensuring products are accurately processed and prepared for shipping.

Responsibilities

• Pick product from location based on information provided on pick ticket
• Attach pick ticket labels to shipping cartons
• Pull non-conveyable offline sales orders via pick ticket
• Place FedEx orders in appropriate labeled boxes
• Stack boxes on appropriate pallets and stage for next wave
• Clean work areas daily, ensuring neat, orderly, and safe conditions
• Operate RF scanner (if applicable)
• Train new or less experienced staff members
• Support active picking and modifications, including collecting holes and consolidating pallets
• Monitor and replenish carton flow and manage pallet returns
• Responsible for startup and shutdown of the sortation system
• Provide leads with timely information on product flow, lane backup, and sortation system operations
• Work cross-functionally to close waves quickly and efficiently
• Collaborate with Maintenance to prevent and correct issues affecting sortation system operation
• Interact with appropriate functional areas on trouble issues such as no-reads and mispicks
• Keep merge area clean and organized

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with RF technology

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Experience driving electric powered industrial equipment such as forklift or walkie rider
