Material Handler I

About This Role

This Material Handler role at Trojan Battery Company involves managing the timely and accurate movement of materials to support manufacturing and shipment, requiring efficient inventory tracking and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Distribute activities in accordance with International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 while maintaining a safe work environment
• Move materials to and from the production line to facilitate an efficient manufacturing process
• Assure material movement and inventory changes are appropriately and precisely tracked
• Operate machinery and perform minor adjustments or setup
• Utilize RF scanner to maintain accurate inventory transfers and record material movement
• Complete reports or inspection sheets as instructed
• Stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions (FIFO Policies and Protocols)
• Complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of measure, and labeling requirements
• Use hand and/or power tools (hammers, cutting saws, nail gun, etc.)
• Identify different products, attach identifying tags or labels, or mark information on pallets
• Successfully complete power equipment certification
• Follow and maintain Lead activities and 5S
• Stage multiple orders for shipment according to appropriate loading patterns, weight distribution, method of shipment, etc.
• Coordinate, process, and ship hazardous waste, scrap, etc., in accordance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or greater
• Basic English proficiency to interpret work and apply safety instructions
• Basic Math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
