This Material Handler role is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of raw materials, test specimens, and finished goods throughout the facility. The position ensures organized inventory, material availability for production, and safe operation of material handling equipment to support smooth workflow and minimize testing delays.
Responsibilities
- Track, organize, and properly store remnant materials in designated storage areas
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of remnant inventory using inventory management systems or ERP software
- Identify, label, and log usable remnants for future production or machining use
- Ensure material movements are executed in a timely manner to support testing and production timelines
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards
- Assist in periodic cycle counts and physical inventories
- Update inventory systems and documentation to reflect material movements, adjustments, and restocking
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with material handling
- Working knowledge of inventory control processes and material tracking
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and support production timelines
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
Nice to Have
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment (certification preferred where applicable)
- Knowledge of and commitment to OSHA and workplace safety standards
