Manager, Operations Management

About This Role

Manage the safety, cost, quality, delivery, and productivity of a manufacturing team for a defense technology company. Collaborate with cross-functional areas to optimize material flow, equipment, and workforce to achieve daily business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage experienced professionals or lower-level supervisors
• Lead, direct and review the work of direct reports
• Exercise hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within own organization
• Communicate with cross functional teams including Planning, Engineering, Quality
• Make significant improvements to processes, systems, solutions, or products
• Conduct extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems
• Manage a team with focus on policy and strategy implementation
• Establish operational plans with measurable contribution to job function results
• Provide measurable input of new products, processes or standards in operational plans

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with minimum 9 years relevant experience OR Graduate Degree with minimum 7 years related experience OR 13 years experience in Operations Management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 9 years prior relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 7 years with a Graduate Degree, or 13 years in Operations Management without a degree.

Nice to Have

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to apply a continuous improvement mindset
• Experience with planning and establishing operational objectives
• Understanding of management and lean approaches
• Practical knowledge of job area
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools and Outlook
