Manager, Independence Consultation - Business Relationships

About This Role

Manage and lead a team of professionals responsible for reviewing and processing business relationships to ensure compliance with auditor independence regulations and policies at Deloitte. This role involves critical secondary reviews, process enhancements, and internal training to maintain integrity and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities

• Manage a domestic and international team processing business relationships and consultations, providing guidance and training.
• Perform critical secondary reviews of business relationship submissions in the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Gateway.
• Collaborate with Lead Client Service Partners and other leadership on consultations involving business relationships.
• Identify and implement potential enhancements to the existing business relationship clearance process and tools, including the TPRM Gateway.
• Work with technology development on enhancements and perform user acceptance testing.
• Take a management role in completing independence processes and assigned projects.
• Monitor, foster, and reinforce data quality in the TPRM Gateway.
• Create and present training sessions on business relationships across internal ICN and Deloitte businesses.
• Participate in the ICN Business Relationships team strategy and operations coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years related experience
• Experience with professional services firm and understanding of auditor independence requirements
• Supervision, coaching, and team management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Strong ability to analyze facts and relationships
• Ability to perform process flow management
• Ability to learn, understand and apply Deloitte's independence policies and guidance related to business relationships
• Strong technology skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years related experience required

• Master's degree in a related field (preferably business, finance or accounting) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Prior public accounting, consulting, or regulatory compliance experience
