Manager, Independence Consultation - Business Relationships

About This Role

This role manages a team responsible for reviewing proposed business relationships to ensure compliance with auditor independence regulations, contributing to Deloitte's operations and growth by managing risk and enhancing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a domestic and international team processing business relationships and consultations
• Perform critical secondary reviews of business relationship submissions in the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Gateway
• Work closely with Lead Client Service Partners and other leadership on business relationship consultations
• Identify and implement potential enhancements to the existing business relationship clearance process and tools
• Work with technology development on enhancements and perform user acceptance testing
• Take a management role in completing independence processes and assigned projects
• Monitor, foster, and reinforce data quality in the TPRM Gateway
• Create and present training sessions on business relationships across internal ICN and all Deloitte businesses
• Participate in the ICN Business Relationships team strategy and operations coordination

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years related experience
• Experience with professional services firm and understanding of auditor independence requirements
• Supervision, coaching, and team management
• Strong written and oral communication skills and outstanding attention to detail
• Strong ability to analyze facts and relationships
• Ability to perform process flow management
• Ability to learn, understand and apply Deloitte's independence policies and guidance related to business relationships
• Strong technology skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years related experience

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in a related field (preferably business, finance or accounting) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Prior public accounting, consulting, or regulatory compliance experience
