This role is a transitional position designed to prepare individuals for a Retail Store Management role by focusing on leadership training, customer service excellence, and operational expertise within AutoZone. Managers in Training (MITs) are expected to drive store performance, foster productive teams, and deliver exceptional customer service under the guidance of a Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and cultivate a high-performing, engaged store team
- Maintain clear and effective communication with employees and customers to drive store execution and performance
- Learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to optimize store profitability
- Support store operations, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold structured training processes
- Assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees to develop a strong, successful team
- Take charge of customer service activities, ensuring outstanding experiences and resolving concerns proactively
- Oversee inventory accuracy, store merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success
- Complete management skills training, learning key aspects of store operations and AutoZone culture
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor
- Full-time flexible schedule availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum 1-2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor
Nice to Have
- Exceptional communication skills, effective in both Spanish and English
- Previous experience in automotive retail or analyzing company financials (e.g., Profit & Loss statements)
