Maintenance Tech Specialist

About This Role

The Maintenance Tech Specialist is responsible for performing industrial maintenance on material handling systems, utilizing expertise in mechanical power transmission, electrical, and PLC/Controls. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, installation, and documentation of technical data.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed procedures as directed by work orders or management
• Anticipate, identify and repair problems using sound judgment and fact-based analysis
• Solve mechanical or electrical problems, including understanding engineering formulas
• Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical, mechanical, and PLC/controls systems
• Read, interpret, and create electrical and mechanical schematics
• Utilize Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software for data entry and retrieval
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and vendors to convey technical data and needs
• Collaborate with department, operations, vendors, and support teams during failures or projects

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six (6) years of experience in industrial maintenance
• Subject matter expertise in mechanical power transmission, electrical, and PLC/Controls troubleshooting, repair and installation
• Advanced welding/fabrication skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, Associate degree in a related area preferred
• Six (6) years of experience, four (4) of those in FedEx Industrial Maintenance or external supporting similar material handling systems

Nice to Have

• Associate degree in a related area

• Multiple certificates and degrees in relevant areas
