About This Role

The Maintenance Specialist provides comprehensive facility, equipment, and fleet maintenance services across all Agency locations, ensuring buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in a safe, functional, and compliant condition. This role involves a variety of tasks from carpentry and plumbing to workstation adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on agency office buildings, grounds, building systems, and meal sites
  • Conduct regular inspections and repairs to ensure facilities are safe, functional, and presentable
  • Coordinate and monitor contracted services including HVAC, janitorial, groundskeeping, and pest control
  • Collaborate with Operations Management, program leadership, Human Resources, and IT to install, configure, and modify office workstations and ergonomic equipment solutions
  • Troubleshoot and perform routine and minor repairs to office and facility equipment, including copiers, furniture systems, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC components
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, plumbing repairs, wall repair, and painting
  • Assemble and install shelving units, furniture, cubicles, and other modular systems
  • Coordinate the movement of materials and equipment between Agency locations, including receiving, staging, transporting, and surplussing
  • Maintain safe exterior conditions by clearing sidewalks, walkways, and parking areas of debris and hazards
  • Coordinate required inspections and vendor maintenance to ensure Agency vehicles are safe and reliable

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of education and/or experience in repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Knowledge and experience in general facility maintenance including HVAC systems, roofing, landscaping, and basic carpentry
  • Ability to identify, report, and correct malfunctioning equipment
  • Experience coordinating vendors and monitoring service performance
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and safe material handling practices
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance coordination and identification of minor vehicle maintenance issues
  • Experience with office equipment and basic technology setup
  • Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, and internet applications
  • Current driver's license and acceptable driving history

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years of similar experience in the areas of repair and maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds
