This role involves procuring resources, ensuring compliance with regulations, and planning maintenance activities for a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The specialist will lead projects, provide training, and coordinate with production to optimize facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Procure spare parts, labor, special tools, contracts, documentation, and equipment for work execution.
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and regulatory requirements are followed.
- Develop weekly and plant shutdown schedules/work lists, identifying external resources as needed.
- Function as a project lead for maintenance initiatives.
- Provide refresher training to departmental groups.
- Revise SOPs and other controlled documentation.
- Control inventory and specialized tools.
- Receive work orders from requesting departments, prioritizing safety needs.
- Estimate job sequences, required mechanics, and man-hours for each step.
- Estimate costs for each work order including direct labor and materials.
- Maintain backlog files of work orders awaiting scheduling.
- Attend meetings with production planning to negotiate downtime for maintenance activities.
- Follow up with Team Leaders and Maintenance Technicians to ensure schedule execution.
- Review completed schedules and work orders, monitor progress, and prepare reports.
- Review actual versus estimated labor and material costs with maintenance supervisors to improve accuracy and methods.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- High school diploma
- Current Leaving Certificate
- Trades Certificate
- GSL

- Extensive understanding and application of maintenance methods, procedures, and standards
- Proficiency in current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
