About This Role

This role involves supporting all aspects of the maintenance department at a Starbucks Roasting Plant, ensuring plant equipment functions optimally, and complying with quality and regulatory requirements to maintain product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist maintenance team with general building and grounds maintenance
  • Assist with the installation of all new equipment
  • Complete plant work orders, part lists, and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure all plant equipment is functioning at optimum levels by performing short-term repairs and long-term improvements
  • Complete tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Understand and follow established safety guidelines, programs and procedures; and actively work to prevent safety incidents
  • Support food safety, legality and quality programs
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

  • 5 years experience in automated manufacturing or distribution environment
  • 5 years experience in general industrial maintenance and electrical systems
  • 2 years experience repairing and maintaining high speed packaging equipment
  • Knowledge of welding, plumbing and machining
  • High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent
  • Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs
  • Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate technical and operational issues clearly and concisely
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical plant equipment
  • Ability to understand mechanical and technical equipment manuals
  • Ability to work in elevated areas with ladders, roofs, overhead lights
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent
  • 5 years in automated manufacturing or distribution environment, 5 years in general industrial maintenance and electrical systems, 2 years repairing and maintaining high speed packaging equipment.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (21 CFR 117) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
  • Experience with BRC or SQF certification schemes
