About This Role

The Maintenance Mechanic II ensures the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair and preventive maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting failures, utilizing various technical skills, and training other associates.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose all maintenance failures
  • Tune equipment for operation using assembly drawings, P&ID’s, and manuals
  • Solve equipment problems using electrical (VFD’s, SCR’s, motor starters) and logic (PLC, SLC) principles
  • Apply basic plumbing, metal working, and general facilities and building maintenance knowledge
  • Work with operating devices such as gages, RTD’s, pressure transmitters, I/P’s, and vortex flow meters
  • Train new associates and team members on required maintenance skill sets
  • Maintain work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines
  • Operate Rich’s SCADA system and complete appropriate paperwork
  • Work with and train operations associates on basic equipment troubleshooting and assist with production as needed

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in food processing with troubleshooting and repair of production equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to train other Associates in Maintenance operations
  • Desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
  • Proficient on Rich’s SCADA system
  • General mechanical knowledge and electrical and logic principle knowledge
  • Basic plumbing, metalworking and general facilities/building maintenance knowledge
  • Awareness of and ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines
  • Awareness of and ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines
  • Understanding of proper machine operating and adjusting procedures
  • Ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in food processing, working with standard troubleshooting and repair of production equipment with highly sophisticated control systems
