About This Role

Lead and train a maintenance crew on the 3rd shift, assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment while collaborating with production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Train millwrights and work with other maintenance crew leaders
  • Assist with installing, repairing, maintaining, rebuilding, and fine-tuning mechanical equipment
  • Communicate problems with Production Team Leads, VSM, and Maintenance Supervisor, and pass information to oncoming shifts
  • Use Emaint to assign daily tasks, generate work requests and orders, and close out work orders by entering labor and parts used
  • Establish work priorities and ensure proper tracking of parts used on work orders
  • Place purchase requisitions through Emaint or the purchasing agent
  • Discipline employees with assistance from HR and the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Complete weekly observations and approve timecards in Kronos
  • Assign tasks for millwrights during production and in between shifts
  • Correct deficiencies or problems during the shift or turn them over to the oncoming shift/Maintenance Supervisor
  • Complete daily absentee reports and attend DMS board meetings for Maintenance

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery, various hand tools related to electric and pneumatics
  • Knowledge of welding, machine press, and lathe
  • Experience and ability to operate forklifts, Pettibone, loader, Bobcat, company vehicle, manlifts, and various other mobile equipment
  • Knowledge of fabrication and necessary tools
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating/work order instructions
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, maintain, and install industrial equipment safely and efficiently

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education Degree (GED) is required
  • Approximately 6 to 12 months to become proficient, additional technical schooling is preferred.
