The Team Lead Trainee will undergo comprehensive training with the Continuous Improvement Manager, Value Stream Manager, and Team Leads to master all facets of manufacturing processes, team development, and Team Lead responsibilities at the Chatham, Virginia hardwood plywood facility. This role focuses on developing an understanding of Lean Systems and Tools, fostering good Job Relations and Leadership skills to cultivate team growth within the Columbia Way Philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Train with Continuous Improvement Manager, Value Stream Manager, and Team Leads
- Learn all aspects of manufacturing processes
- Learn team development processes
- Develop an understanding of Lean Systems and Tools
- Use Job Relations and Leadership skills to develop and grow the team
- Support all safety efforts
- Learn and promote quality standards
- Actively complete problem-solving tasks as assigned
- Be an example of Columbia's core values
Qualifications
- A degree in Business or Wood Science is preferred but not required
