The Maintenance Assistant will ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors by performing daily maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of the facility’s interior and exterior areas.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of the facility’s interior and exterior areas
- Communicate regularly with the Administrator to ensure physical plant equipment is functioning
- Lead facility inspection tours and meet with Village inspectors as needed
- Perform snow and ice removal
- Perform minor tile, wallpaper, painting, and drywall repairs
- Perform gardening and lawn care duties
- Repair and replace door and window hardware
- Maintain all lighting fixtures
- Perform all preventative maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of parts and tool inventories
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience performing maintenance duties in a healthcare facility or industrial setting
- Ability to make basic carpentry repairs
- Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical repairs
- Knowledge of basic plumbing and plumbing repairs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree, trade program certificates, or equivalent work experience
- Experience performing maintenance duties in a healthcare facility or industrial setting
Nice to Have
- Knowledge about basic HVAC equipment
