About This Role

Lead high-level development, system design, and modernization of mainframe applications as a Mainframe Tech Lead. Provide technical mentorship and guide Agile teams to deliver scalable mainframe solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-level development, system design, and modernization of mainframe applications including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and IMS
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and ensure best practices are followed across projects
  • Monitor system performance, optimize resources, and support the resolution of complex production incidents
  • Guide Agile teams, manage project scope and schedules, and coordinate with stakeholders for requirements
  • Architect, design, and develop scalable mainframe solutions with a focus on performance, quality, and maintainability

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in mainframe development
  • 1-2 years in a lead role
  • Deep knowledge of z/OS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, IMS, REXX, SQL
  • Experience with debugging tools like Xpediter or File-Aid

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in mainframe development, including at least 1-2 years in a lead role
