About This Role

Provide high-level, vigilant care to patients transitioning from the ICU in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Methodist Hospital. Monitor patient changes, administer medications, and assist with monitoring to ensure patient safety and facilitate healing.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on care for patients with complex needs by administering medications, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), managing tubes and drains, and assisting with advanced monitoring
Monitor closely for changes in heart rate, oxygen levels, or neurological status and quickly alert the team to support early treatment
Keep clear and timely records to help the team work together and keep patients safe
Help patients and families understand their condition and feel supported as they navigate serious conditions and recovery steps
Work closely with RNs, doctors, and specialists to help patients stabilize and move forward from intensive care

Requirements

(LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse, or (GVN) Graduate Vocational Nurse
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Qualifications

Associate Degree, or Vocational School Graduate
