About This Role

The Admissions Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure efficient clinic operations. This role focuses on patient interaction, scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining confidentiality for a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously, providing assistance as needed.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls; respond to inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments using the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility prior to appointments.
  • Collect co-pays and process payments accurately following clinic protocols.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Prepare and manage patient charts and documentation for daily clinic operations.
  • Monitor and maintain front desk supplies and ensure a clean, organized reception area.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and filing as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in front desk or patient access roles.
