Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable adults and children in various care settings across Texas. Perform field investigations, collect evidence, and write reports while ensuring adherence to state policies and laws.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews concerning allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Collect evidence pertinent to the investigation
- Use critical thinking and sound judgment to analyze evidence related to the allegation
- Write reports summarizing facts obtained during investigations as to whether abuse, neglect, or exploitation occurred
- Communicate professionally and appropriately via all communication mediums
- Promote and demonstrate appropriate respect for cultural diversity
- Behave ethically and adhere to HHSC Standards of Conduct
- Participate in case conferences and meetings with supervisors and peers regarding case progress and disposition
- Participate in continuous training
- Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy
- Travel using a personal vehicle and/or rental car in accordance with state travel policy
Requirements
- Experience interacting with or communicating with members of the public, in person or by phone
- 60 hours of college credits from an accredited college or university
Qualifications
- 60 hours of college credits from an accredited college or university
Nice to Have
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience conducting investigations
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or physical disabilities
