LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Orthopedic and Adult Advanced Acute Care Unit

About This Role

Geisinger is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to contribute to assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in an Orthopedic and Adult Advanced Acute Care Unit. The role focuses on promoting adaptive responses in patients and families while ensuring high-quality, safe, and satisfying patient care.

Responsibilities

• Contribute data to patient assessments based on scope of practice and unit standards
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care
• Reinforce patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning during hospitalization
• Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and the plan of care based on patient response
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs
• Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice
• Provide input to the manager for performance appraisals of care delivery team members
• Precept and mentor new staff and students in a professional, positive manner

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Basic Life Support Certification

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing
