LNA - Critical Care Stepdown

About This Role

This role is for a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) who will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse within a critical care stepdown unit. The LNA will assist with various clinical functions to ensure a safe and compassionate environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document point of care, vital signs, EKGs, bathing, and other sanitary needs of patients
• Transfer and assist with ambulation of patients
• Feed patients as needed
• Assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments
• Ensure patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately
• Perform specimen collection and document information
• Retrieve, set up, clean, and report malfunctioning equipment
• Document patient information such as height, weight, intake/output, and blood glucose results
• Assist patients with food tray setup and eating
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient care and condition
• Receive and direct Medical Staff, personnel, patients, and visitors

Requirements

• 1-2 years of healthcare experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
• Demonstrated typing skills and computer experience
• Ability to multitask and handle stress crisis situations effectively
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and transport patients according to Safe Patient Handling Guidelines

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years of healthcare experience required
