This Litigation Attorney will handle injury defense litigation cases from inception to completion, advising clients, interpreting laws, and developing strategies. The role involves preparing legal documents, negotiating settlements, and making court appearances in a fast-paced, team-oriented, predominantly remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle caseload from inception to completion
- Advise clients concerning their claims or defense of claims, legal rights and obligations
- Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for clients
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases
- Investigate, interview and gather evidence to formulate defense
- Prepare and draft legal documents including briefs and opinions
- Negotiate settlements and mediations
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
- Communicate with clients and provide status reports
Requirements
- 3+ years of injury litigation experience
- Must have KY license
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced but team oriented environment
- Experience with discovery, depositions, pleadings, research, investigations and mediation
- Must be able to communicate often to clients and other providers
