About This Role

The Line Cook will properly execute all aspects of food production, dish preparation, and service of food items. This role involves maintaining product quality and performing necessary cleaning and organizational tasks in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all aspects of food production and dish preparation
  • Understand and execute all menu components to TARTINE's quality standards
  • Work cleanly, ensuring stations are cleaned after every project
  • Execute recipe processes and techniques to ensure consistency and quality
  • Write prep lists and execute mise en place lists for timely service and next-day setup
  • Coordinate daily tasks with sous chef(s) and/or pastry chef
  • Own assigned stations, including dish preparation and necessary prep work
  • Clean all equipment and workspaces following specific cleaning procedures
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with all team members
  • Maximize efficiency and manage time properly during shifts

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate and understand English & a reasonable amount of Spanish
  • Effective oral communication skills and ability to work as a team player
  • Possess basic math skills
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (minimum 8 hours/day)
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Stamina and availability to work at least 40 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, formal culinary education preferred
