Line Cook

About This Role

Barcadia New Orleans is hiring full-time Line Cooks to prepare lunch and dinner according to menu specifications and sanitation guidelines, working as part of a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lunch and/or dinner dishes
• Review menus prior to food preparation
• Assure that all food preparation procedures are followed
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
• Follow all sanitation guidelines
• Become familiar with new menu items and dishes
• Work effectively as part of a kitchen team

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of food preparation experience
• Demonstrated cooking skills and ability to follow established menus and recipes
• Knowledge of cooking burgers and steaks to the correct requested temperature
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of food preparation experience required, with preferred experience in high volume food preparation.

Nice to Have

• Graduate of a culinary institute, military school or formal on-the-job training
• Experience with high volume food preparation
