Lifeguard

About This Role

This role involves observing and controlling the proper use of aquatic facilities at Zane State College, ensuring a safe environment and high level of customer service. The Lifeguard will follow all established protocols, maintain facility cleanliness, and enforce rules and policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce E&A Lifeguarding protocols
• Respond to customer requests
• Administer swim tests
• Test pool chemicals and maintain water chemistry
• Ensure facility is clean
• Maintain a safe and secure area by maintaining and enforcing facility rules, policies, and procedures
• Fill out hourly and bi-hourly pool maintenance checklists and sheets
• Serve as Head Lifeguard during the absence of the Head Lifeguard
• Attend monthly staff meetings and in-service trainings
• Remain current with required certifications and Ellis lifeguarding license

Requirements

• Possess an Ellis and Associates lifeguarding license
• Age sixteen (16) or older
• Subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results
• Good physical condition
• Pass a post offer physical examination or test
• Able to swim 200 yards, tread water for 2 minutes without use of hands, and retrieve a brick from a depth of 14 feet of water

Qualifications

• Preferred: One year or more of lifeguarding experience
