Lifeguard

About This Role

Ensure the safety of guests at Great Wolf Lodge's waterpark attractions by supervising swimmers, responding to emergencies, and enforcing park rules within Ellis Certification standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide surveillance of swimmers and guests during park hours, special events, and training sessions
• Respond to emergency situations in assigned zone
• Assist in communicating emergency situations outside of assigned zone
• Administer and coordinate emergency first aid as necessary
• Enforce the rules and regulations of the waterpark
• Advise aquatics management of unsafe and unsanitary conditions
• Provide superior customer service to all guests by assisting all in a polite and expedient manner
• Perform daily routine chores and maintenance of waterpark to ensure neat and orderly appearance
• Perform within Ellis Certification standards

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age (or 15 for lifeguard positions with company approval)
• Ability and willingness to achieve Certification in First Aid, CPR and Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training
• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen
• Ability to swim 50 yards in 4 ft. of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the bottom of pool
• Capable of prolonged exposure to hot and humid environments
• Minimum of 20/25 corrected or uncorrected vision and no permanent eye abnormalities

Qualifications

• No experience required, training provided

Nice to Have

• Good oral communication skills
• Prior First Aid, CPR, AED experience
• Prior lifeguard training and/or experience
