Licensed Vocational Nurse

About This Role

Administer one-on-one skilled nursing care to patients in their private residence, following physician orders and the plan of care. This role involves implementing nursing care plans and providing various treatments and diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures
• Implement the nursing care plan for each patient
• Provide nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures as assigned
• Initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures as appropriate
• Observe signs and symptoms and report to the physician and RN reactions to treatments, including drugs and changes in the patient’s physical or emotional condition
• Teach and counsel the patient and family/significant others regarding the nursing care needs and other related problems of the patient at home
• Prepare clinical and progress notes

Requirements

• Currently licensed in the state of California as a Practical/Vocational Nurse
• Current CPR certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical (vocational) nursing
• 1 year experience in nursing is a plus, new graduates welcome
