Licensed Psychiatric Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse

About This Role

Provide basic medical services to patients in an outpatient recovery environment, maintaining standards of professional nursing practice and ensuring safe delivery of medication.

Responsibilities

• Implement all aspects of receiving, storing, and dispensing controlled and non-controlled substances
• Perform daily reconciliation of controlled substances as required by federal and state regulations
• Maintain accurate individual patient medication dosage sheets and urinalysis results
• Administer medication dosages and evaluate patients for side effects or reactions
• Document and sign entries in patient treatment records
• Ensure patient confidentiality and security at the dispensing window
• Administer medication to locally hospitalized patients as needed
• Provide appropriate documentation to Medical Director and / or Clinic Manager
• Ensure that forms are completed in their entirety
• Maintain patient charts and filing
• Ensure knowledge of, and observe, applicable federal and state regulations
• Orient new patients to the programs’ policies, rules, and procedures

Requirements

• Active and current California nursing / technician license (RN, LVN, or LPT)
• Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and first aid certification
• Experience with triaging in emergency situations
• Experience assisting with medical emergencies
