As a Counselor, you will guide patients through their recovery journey at Pinnacle, providing compassionate care and utilizing innovative treatment methods for substance use disorders. You will play a crucial role in transforming lives and making a positive impact on those seeking help.
Responsibilities
- Provide orientation to new patients regarding program rules, policies, procedures, and rights
- Conduct Intakes, Discharge Planning, Initial Assessments, and Initial Treatment Plans professionally and within time guidelines
- Involve patients in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention aspects of treatment
- Administer biopsychosocial assessments at intake and on an ongoing basis
- Utilize patients’ Strengths, Needs, Ability, and Preferences (SNAP) to develop individualized Treatment Plans
- Determine the clinical necessity of counseling services based on assessment and evaluation
- Monitor closely and document any change of circumstances with patients, identifying and addressing relapse indicators
- Comply with and implement Medical Q.A and Clinical Risk Management Policies
- Provide professional counseling and referral services including individual and group counseling
- Attend all recommended training and collect research data when requested
Requirements
- Associate degree in a relevant field or majority of approved counselor certification courses
- Counselor registration/certification by a "Certifying Organization" recognized by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs
- Ability to administer the BAM-R, C-SSRS, GAD-7, and PHQ-9 screening tools
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant field or a majority of approved counselor certification courses
- 0-2 years of experience for Counselor I, 2-5 years for Counselor II, and experience for Counselor III
Nice to Have
- Prior SUD counseling experience
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field
- Experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI)
