Licensed Colorist

About This Role

The Licensed Colorist provides digital color consultations to DIY enthusiasts, guiding them through their hair color journey and offering expert advice to achieve their hair color goals. This role elevates the Sally Beauty brand as a leader in hair color and drives increased sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Connect, engage, and inspire clients through digital color consultations to build lasting relationships with each DIY enthusiast.
• Listen and understand each client’s needs; make expert product recommendations and build customized shopping carts.
• Provide unrivaled expertise to each client, offering advice and troubleshooting color situations.
• Demonstrate ‘build the basket’ techniques to offer complimentary products.
• Assess client skill level; teach and advise on products and techniques for success.
• Demonstrate the Sally Engagement Model, utilizing tutorials, providing written consultation summaries, and following up.
• Meet or exceed established metrics and color growth goals.

Requirements

• Active Cosmetology License
• Fluent in Spanish and English (speaking, writing, conversation)
• Ability to pass a detailed Hair Color Knowledge Check
• Strong professional image and ability to interface positively with clients
• Ability to use technology including software platforms, Microsoft Office, digital video conferencing systems, clientelling, and digital appointment scheduling tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient problem-solving skills and ability to correct complex hair color situations
• Commitment to working scheduled hours and flexibility for additional hours (weekend, evening, holiday)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years retail, customer service, salon, or one year with Sally Beauty.
