This Legal Assistant role involves supporting attorneys in a litigation law firm, focusing on general litigation, labor & employment, and medical malpractice. The position requires strong organizational skills and familiarity with court rules to manage legal documentation, schedule depositions, and maintain attorney calendars.
Responsibilities
- Draft correspondence, perform editing, and file pleadings with State and Federal courts
- Schedule depositions
- Maintain legal files
- Arrange travel
- Prepare expense reports
- Perform time entry
- Maintain attorney calendars
- Conduct legal research
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-4+ years of experience in legal field
- Familiarity with general litigation, labor & employment, and medical malpractice law
- Strong understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures
- Excellent computer skills with Outlook, Excel and Word (including formatting briefs, generating Table of Contents and Table of Authorities)
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Exceptional organizational skills
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-4+ years of experience, familiar with general litigation, labor & employment, and medical malpractice fields of Law.
Nice to Have
- Experience with IManage
- Experience with Court Alert
