This Lead Technologist, MRI position provides oversight for the MRI department, performing routine to complex diagnostic technical procedures, ensuring image quality, and maintaining MRI safety. The role also involves developing protocols, ensuring accreditation, and mentoring staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight for the MRI department and perform routine to complex diagnostic technical procedures
- Ensure image quality, excellence in patient care and uninterrupted work flow
- Maintain technical aspects of MRI safety
- Develop and maintain MRI protocols and communicate with radiologists for standardization
- Ensure ACR accreditation on all scanners
- Respond to PeerVue audits of MRI exams for Quality Improvement Analysis
- Assist with development as needed for new protocols and procedures within the MRI department
- Assist in development of standards for MRI Safety to patients and the public to assure safety and awareness
- Monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy
- Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting
- Participate in on-going service and process improvement efforts
- Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching
- Provide input to staff performance evaluations
- Perform duties of MRI Technologist no more than 50% of the work day and admin duties a minimum of 50% of the time
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited education program in MRI
- ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(MR) or ARMRIT Certified Technologist
- BLS - Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR
- 3-5 years related experience in MRI
- 1 year of team leader or supervisory experience
- Familiar with variety of MRI modality concepts
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited education program in MRI required
- Three (3) - five (5) years related experience in the field of MRI with at least 1 year of team leader or supervisory experience
