About This Role

Perform a variety of echocardiography tests for patients in a clinical setting, utilizing expertise in cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics. Maintain a clean work area and accurate records while making a meaningful impact on patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently perform all aspects of an Echo Lab, including 2D Echo/Doppler/Color Flow, Stress Echo, and Contrast studies
  • Provide professional quality technical care for clinic patients according to established guidelines
  • Enter all necessary data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Be familiar with saving and retrieving images on a Digital Video Recorder (DVR)
  • Recognize and report significant abnormal findings to the cardiologist
  • Perform Doppler Echocardiography and Stress Echocardiography, checking images for contraindications for stress tests
  • Maintain the testing area with necessary supplies, materials, and cleanliness
  • Perform everyday duties to maintain the highest quality standards in the Echo Lab and cardiology department
  • Possess knowledge of safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain and prepare records

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Basic EKG interpretation
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous Echo Lab experience
  • Knowledge of elementary electrocardiography
  • Understanding of cardiac anatomy as recorded by M-mode, 2D echocardiography with all standard views
  • Knowledge of cardiac hemodynamics as demonstrated by pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler and Color flow imaging
  • Familiarity with basic procedures and equipment for exercise electrocardiography
  • Understanding of basic principles of digital echocardiography and quantitation
  • Familiarity with contrast study procedures

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of at least 3 years of previous Echo Lab experience
