Lead Registered Dental Assistant

About This Role

The Lead Registered Dental Assistant supports the Dentist during treatments and exams, overseeing back-office functions for efficiency. This role involves mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams, complete digital charting, and verify codes with precision
• Capture quality x-ray images
• Assist dentists with a variety of treatment procedures including RCTs, Cording Packing, Crown Seat, and Denture adjustments
• Set up and sterilize exam and treatment rooms
• Discuss treatment options, importance, and recommended follow-up care with patients
• Provide teeth polishing and sealant placement procedure (with required certifications)
• Train and mentor new team members on scheduling appointments and patient care
• Manage patient flow and improve overall processes to streamline patient visits
• Monitor staff and dentist time management to maximize patient care
• Guide parents and patients through post-care instructions
• Complete inventory orders and act in accordance with office budget

Requirements

• Texas Issued Registered Dental Assistant Licensing
• 4-5+ years of Dental Assisting experience
• RCT, Cord Packing, Denture Adjustments, and Crown Seat experience
• Experience with training team members and monitoring progress
• Proficient in Digital x-rays and Digital charting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrates initiative
• Highly adaptable to a dynamic business environment
• Strong demonstration of task completion and dedication to detail
• Team Player and great interpersonal skills
• Prompt and timely with work schedule
• Amazing customer service skills

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years of Dental Assisting experience

Nice to Have

• Sealant Placement, Nitrous Monitoring, and Coronal Polishing Certifications
• Experience with conducting challenging conversations
• Open to cross-training opportunities and learning new job skills
