Lead Preschool Teacher

About This Role

This role is for a Lead Preschool Teacher to create a nurturing, faith-filled, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children within the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The teacher will support the spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, fostering a lifelong love of learning and respect.

Responsibilities

• Model and actively promote Catholic values, prayer, and moral development within the classroom
• Integrate age-appropriate religious instruction and faith-based activities into daily learning
• Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with diocesan early childhood standards
• Use play-based, hands-on learning experiences to promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking
• Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that supports independence, cooperation, and respect
• Observe, document, and assess student development and progress; maintain accurate records
• Provide daily guidance, support, and direction to assistant teachers and classroom aides
• Collaborate with colleagues and administration to ensure a cohesive and high-quality early childhood program
• Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with families, colleagues, and administrators
• Conduct parent conferences and contribute to newsletters or classroom communications

Requirements

• State teaching certification and/or diocesan certification (preferred)
• Previous experience teaching or working with preschool-aged children
• Active, practicing Catholic preferred; commitment to supporting and modeling Catholic values required
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a faith-based educational community
