Lead Network Engineer

About This Role

This Lead Network Engineer will oversee network operations, ensuring optimal performance and security, and support IT/network plan development for customers in the intelligence community.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Systems Administrators as assigned by the Lead System Administrator
• Assist the Lead, Network Engineer in developing and implementing IT/network plans
• Manage network operations using simple network management protocol (SNMP) network management tools
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network problems with network protocol capture/decode analyzers
• Plan and build networks from open systems interconnect (OSI) Layer 1 through Layer 3
• Manage TCP/IP internetworking connectivity to include addressing and subletting
• Monitor network as defined in the network-monitoring plan
• Install, configure, update, and document the physical cable plant
• Install, configure, and manage networking hardware (switches, bridges, hubs, concentrators, transceivers)
• Install, configure, and manage network security (firewalls, P, blocking)
• Configure and manage virtual private networks (VPNs)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for network engineers from the Office of the CIO and other IT organizations external to the CAC laboratory

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI with Poly Clearance
• 6+ years of experience with Cisco Catalyst switches and other Cisco network hardware
• 7+ years intelligence community experience as a network engineer or network administrator

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering mathematics
• Six (6) years of experience with a relevant Bachelor's degree, or fourteen (14) years of equivalent experience without a degree. Six (6) years' experience with Cisco Catalyst switches and other Cisco network hardware. Seven (7) years intelligence community experience as a network engineer or network administrator.
