About This Role

This role involves taking a clinical lead at the site, training Medical Assistants, and establishing work schedules while bringing operational concerns and improvement recommendations to Practice Management.

Responsibilities

  • Take clinical lead at site, including training and establishing work schedules for Medical Assistants
  • Bring forward staff concerns and operational issues to and recommend operational improvements to Practice Management
  • Serve as the site Safety Representative (may serve)
  • Perform various clinical responsibilities within scope of certification and under physician/Practice Manager supervision
  • Prepare patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, history, and chief complaint
  • Prepare exam room as required based on chief complaint
  • Perform phlebotomy and obtain specimens for processing
  • Administer vaccines and complete required documentation
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG and Pulmonary Function as directed and supervised by physician
  • Screen and direct patient calls according to established protocol
  • Contact patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed and supervised by physician
  • Maintain par level of clinical supplies for facility
  • Perform daily regulatory testing and documentation to ensure accurate and compliant clinical equipment
  • Audit and manage sample medications for the office
  • Provide feedback and assist Practice Manager with Annual Performance Reviews and 30-day Employee Orientation Reviews
  • Make recommendations for additional education when needed
  • Oversee all state reports, logs, and vaccines to ensure compliance

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant
  • BLS Certification

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • 1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.

  • 1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office

Certifications

BLS certification (Required) Medical Assistant Certification or Registration (Required)
