This role involves taking a clinical lead at the site, training Medical Assistants, and establishing work schedules while bringing operational concerns and improvement recommendations to Practice Management.
Responsibilities
- Take clinical lead at site, including training and establishing work schedules for Medical Assistants
- Bring forward staff concerns and operational issues to and recommend operational improvements to Practice Management
- Serve as the site Safety Representative (may serve)
- Perform various clinical responsibilities within scope of certification and under physician/Practice Manager supervision
- Prepare patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs, history, and chief complaint
- Prepare exam room as required based on chief complaint
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain specimens for processing
- Administer vaccines and complete required documentation
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG and Pulmonary Function as directed and supervised by physician
- Screen and direct patient calls according to established protocol
- Contact patients regarding prescriptions and testing results as directed and supervised by physician
- Maintain par level of clinical supplies for facility
- Perform daily regulatory testing and documentation to ensure accurate and compliant clinical equipment
- Audit and manage sample medications for the office
- Provide feedback and assist Practice Manager with Annual Performance Reviews and 30-day Employee Orientation Reviews
- Make recommendations for additional education when needed
- Oversee all state reports, logs, and vaccines to ensure compliance
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- 1-3 years of similar job experience in a medical office preferred.
