Lead Estimator

About This Role

Lead the estimating efforts for the department, directing and guiding the work of estimators for various projects, focusing on water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection products.

Responsibilities

• Direct the scope by organizing and pricing equipment, material, and labor cost items in estimates
• Direct the development of cash flow, escalation, and interest calculations for estimates
• Gather, calculate, and compile data for conceptual/hard bid estimates
• Prepare cost estimates and price quotes on new work
• Coordinate the preparation of cost estimates on project continuations
• Proactively seek additional new subcontractor and supplier relationships, while maintaining existing relationships
• Develop analyses to aid in setting the contingency for estimates
• Provide input, training, and mentor other team members

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age or older
• Pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or MS/MA in related field
• Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field with a BS/BA or 3-5 years with an MS/MA
