As a Lead Engineering Manager, you will shape and communicate a strategic vision for modern software engineering, providing hands-on leadership across high-impact products. You will guide teams in delivering robust, high-quality solutions, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Your role involves driving simplification, scalability, and efficiency while inspiring and developing engineering talent to align with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to defining, communicating, and continuously refining a compelling engineering vision that translates business objectives into actionable strategies
- Ensure engineering teams are aligned and engaged, collaborating closely with product, experience, delivery, infrastructure, and security teams
- Champion the integrated engineering strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring organizational awareness of objectives, KPIs, maturity, and compliance
- Maintain and evolve engineering dashboards (planning, code quality, CI/CD, performance, security, operations)
- Contribute hands-on to design and code, mentor engineers, and resolve technical challenges
- Mentor and develop full-stack engineering talent in modern practices such as frontend, microservices, cloud-native design, AI/ML/GenAI, data engineering, DevSecOps
- Embrace an iterative and incremental product development, favoring action, prioritizing rapid learning, and adaptation
- Establish and evolve engineering standards, coding practices, and quality benchmarks to ensure robust, secure, and scalable solutions
- Influence, persuade, and drive decision-making processes, communicating effectively in both written and verbal forms
- Engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization, building collaborative and constructive relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of proven experience with programming languages, technologies, and frameworks (Python, C#, Java, Node.js, Golang, .NET Core, XML/JSON, REST/SOAP/GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL, SSO/MFA, unit testing frameworks)
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native integration services on one or more hyper-scalers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- 5+ years of experience with defining and driving engineering KPIs, implementing engineering maturity models
- 3+ years of experience with AI/ML
- Deep understanding of methodologies and tools such as XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, CAST
- Proven ability to drive adoption of modern engineering practices at scale
- Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing diverse engineering teams
- Strong understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements in enterprise software engineering
- Demonstrated experience aligning engineering initiatives with business and customer value
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline. An advanced degree (e.g., MS) is preferred.
- 15+ years of proven experience with programming languages, technologies, and frameworks; 8+ years hands-on experience with cloud-native integration services; 5+ years experience defining and driving engineering KPIs; 3+ years experience with AI/ML.
