Lead Engineering Manager

About This Role

As a Lead Engineering Manager, you will define and communicate a strategic vision for modern software engineering, leading multiple high-impact products to ensure innovative solutions aligned with business goals. You will provide hands-on leadership to drive simplification, scalability, and efficiency while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Guide engineering teams in delivering robust, high-quality solutions, leveraging deep expertise in application and data integration, modern frameworks, and diverse technologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to defining, communicating, and continuously refining an engineering vision that translates business objectives into actionable strategies
• Ensure engineering teams are aligned and engaged, collaborating closely with product, experience, delivery, infrastructure, and security teams
• Champion the integrated engineering strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring organizational awareness of objectives, KPIs, maturity, and compliance
• Drive achievement of engineering KPIs, including system performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
• Contribute hands-on to design and code, mentor engineers, and resolve technical challenges
• Mentor and develop full-stack engineering talent in modern practices such as frontend, microservices, cloud-native design, AI/ML/GenAI, data engineering, and DevSecOps
• Embrace an iterative and incremental product development approach, prioritizing rapid learning and adaptation
• Establish and evolve engineering standards, coding practices, and quality benchmarks to ensure robust, secure, and scalable solutions
• Influence, persuade, and drive decision-making processes, communicating effectively in both written and verbal forms
• Engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization to build collaborative relationships and drive momentum

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline
• Excellent software engineering and product architecture/design foundation
• Deep understanding of Business Context Diagrams (BCD), sequence/activity/state/ER/DFD diagrams, OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms, code instrumentation, and messaging patterns
• 15+ years of proven experience with programming languages, technologies, and frameworks such as Python, C#, Java, Node.js, Golang, .NET Core, XML/JSON, REST/SOAP/GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL, SSO/MFA, and unit testing frameworks
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native integration services on one or more hyper-scalers like Azure, AWS, GCP
• 5+ years of experience with defining and driving engineering KPIs, implementing engineering maturity models, and driving continuous improvement
• 3+ years of experience with AI/ML
• Deep understanding of methodologies and tools such as XP, Lean, SAFe, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, CAST
• Proven ability to drive adoption of modern engineering practices at scale, including cross-functional collaboration
• Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing diverse engineering teams
• Strong understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements in enterprise software engineering
• Demonstrated experience aligning engineering initiatives with business and customer value, delivering measurable outcomes in agile environments
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline
• 15+ years of proven experience with programming languages, technologies, and frameworks; 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native integration services; 5+ years of experience with defining and driving engineering KPIs; 3+ years of experience with AI/ML
