Lead Cashier

About This Role

The Lead Cashier is responsible for ensuring efficient guest transactions and maintaining high standards at the cashwrap, including cleanliness and aesthetics. This role involves training new cashiers, cross-training other associates, and driving loyalty results through excellent sales, guest experience, and adherence to operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink
• Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, and recommending products/services
• Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
• Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by pairing them with an associate for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events
• Replenish, organize, and maintain all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures
• Support the leadership team by completing cashier chat ins and chat outs as well as associate exit inspections
• Stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests
• Assist in the training of new cashiers, and cross-training other associates in cashiering

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
• Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and a competency for selling
• Experience addressing guests concerns and questions promptly and professionally
• Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
• Minimum 18 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
