Lead Cashier

About This Role

The Lead Cashier is responsible for the efficient processing of guest transactions and upholding exceptional cashwrap standards. This role involves training new cashiers and cross-training other associates, driving loyalty program enrollments, and supporting the leadership team with register functions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals for retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting guests, personalizing service, and recommending products/services
• Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges
• Book and support execution of services and in-store events
• Replenish, organize, and maintain cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures
• Support the leadership team with cashier chat ins/outs and associate exit inspections
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services
• Promote guest loyalty programs (credit, Ulta Beauty app) and drive accountability to goals
• Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates in cashiering
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards
• Complete all transactions and control cash/media at the cashwrap
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall cleanliness

Requirements

• Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
• Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and a competency for selling
• Experience addressing guest concerns and questions promptly and professionally
• Aged 18 years or older

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
