Lead Cashier

About This Role

The Lead Cashier is responsible for ensuring efficient guest transactions and maintaining high standards at the cashwrap, including cleanliness and aesthetics. This role involves training new cashiers, supporting the leadership team with register functions, and driving loyalty program results.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals for retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, and personalizing interactions, and recommending Ulta Beauty products/services.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously and efficiently.
• Ensure guests receive exceptional service by connecting them with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events.
• Maintain replenishment, organization, and maintenance of all cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures.
• Support the leadership team by completing cashier chat ins/outs and associate exit inspections as needed.
• Assist in the training of new cashiers and cross-training other associates in cashiering.
• Drive cashier accountability in delivering exceptional guest experiences and following Ulta Beauty's systems.
• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards, including dress code.

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent
• Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve
• Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and competency for selling
• Experience addressing guest concerns and questions promptly and professionally
• Demonstrated experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires
• Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable
• Must be 18 years of age

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
